Remember to wear purple today...
In memory of those who died because the shunning and bullying was too hard to bear,
and in support of gay persons, including those still in the closet, who may be very surprised
to see before them today how very many people wish them a good, long, and happy life!
This is a way to speak to them silently but vividly.

Not yet ready for frost...
We have a frost and freeze advisory! Sure wish it would hold off until November,
but really can't complain since we have sometimes had snow by now.

Have you hugged a Birder today?
Today is Wildlife*Biologist*Son*in*Maine's Birthday! He loved all the Burgess books when he was young. Now he loves the birds.
The next door neighbours of my dear friend Margaret (the next town over from here) are related to author Thorton W. Burgess. Small world.

Meet my newest Grandcat!
They're still choosing her name, but as they live by the ocean it will be a nautical name
(we kind of like "Mizen"). She was born on youngest granddaughter's first birthday!
We'll be meeting her later today. Purrrrrr. =^. .^=

Ferry ride anyone?
Look closely. That mountain way in the back is one of Vermont's highest peaks.
It is aptly named Camel's Hump. Hubby likes to tell people:
"We see camels hump in Vermont sometimes."

7th Anniversary is Wool or Copper...
Son*in*ME and his Spouse are celebrating their 7th Anniversary today. My goodness,
it was right after their wedding that Hubby and I joined the Dean campaign. (We had
only waited until after the wedding, so we could get everything done for it.) So that
means we've been together about 7 years now. I call that 7 years good luck!

The Vermont Recount 2010: Gubernatorial Race
Here are four of the five Democratic candidates for Governor:
Susan Bartlett, Doug Racine, Peter Shumlin, Deb Markowitz. Matt Dunne could not be present at this event. But all five are united and have been amiably campaigning together against the Republican challenger, while the very close election results are recounted. The presumptive nominee is Peter Shumlin. 1/4 of one percent behind him in votes (192 votes) is Doug Racine. To win, a simple majority is all that is required. I remain hopeful that Doug will turn out to have the most votes. I'd cross my fingers and toes, but that could make the counting go slower. I'll be helping to recount the vote in Chittenden County. Send us your best vibes!!
