When I wrote down today's date this morning it struck me that it was a binary number, 10/10/10. It's been a long time since I studied that particular part of math so I looked it up and 101010 translates to the number 42 in decimal numbers.
That led me to explore the meaning of number 42 and I learned that according to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "The answer to life, the universe and everything is 42."
I must have dropped that candy wrapper on my way out. Today got disrupted, I shouldn't even be surprised anymore because it often happens.
Thank goodness I don't have to go to quilting tomorrow. I'm feeling a strong sense of "the hurrier I go the behinder I get" taking over my life. Crossing fingers that I'll get to catch up a little tomorrow.
For now must haul the garbage cans out to the curb.
As we were eating lunch on the porch today, Penny siad, "Orange [kitty] likes this weather." And I agreed that everybody enjoys it. I don't know if it technically qualfies as Indian summer, but it'll do until one comes along.
But when I checked the temperature sometime around 8 pm, it was still 80 deg. That's almost oo much like summer for this time of day.
Me too, Susan! Warren Kimble painted a portrait of it for the Shelburne Museum, where it stands. Next to it is the carousel I posted the photo of on Friday.
Today we went for a foliage drive then had granddaughter here for the evening. We're tired, but it was a really nice day! :-)
That happens when I'm posting a new thread, setting it to auto-post on a different day than this one, but forget to change the time to 12:00AM. So it get set for the time of night I was setting it to post. Dang!

I find I have to let go of the things I just don't have energy for...while also working on taking care of myself and guarding a little time to do nothing very slowly.
Talked to Robert yesterday afternoon and john and Chris last night. Robert paid me a sweet compliment by saying that talking with me always cheers him up. Well, it works both ways. Somehow he always cheers me up to. We were talking about his iPhone, and he pretty much convinced me that it really is as wonderful as advertised. He can use all its functions with no difficulty at all using the integrated speech. So, now I'm thinking that maybe I'll give myself one for Christmas.
John and Chris were giving me a hard time, particularly John, about liking Engelbert. I don't get it. Why is it that everybody has to hassle me about everything I do and everything I like. *sigh* Other than that, it was a lovely conversation. Chris always makes me laugh helplessly.
I agree with Bill ~~ where ever or however, Howard is first.
ReplyDeletelistener, this thread was scheduled to print at 10:14 tonight, so I move it up.
