Just wanted to say: as one with in indoor outhouse (composting toilet), they're easy enough to keep good smelling (assuming you like the smell of compost) by just keeping them aerated ~~ it's letting them go anaerobic that causes the odor problem. . . . Just sayin'. . . .
My Grandma had both an indoor bathroom and an outhouse. She lived on an island in Ohio in the middle of the Miami River (can't remember if it was Great Miami or Little Miami). Very exotic to us younguns. The outhouse was a two-holer, and we actually used it when out playing until a flash flood washed it away. I don't remember any bad smell about it. I think some people used to sprinkle lime down the hole from time to time. Don't know if Grandma did that.
Warm here, sunshine and shadow in turns. Gathered about five pounds of ripe tomatoes, still plenty of big green ones ready to go. These guys are *wonderful* ~~ heavy, hard, solid. Not all waterlogged and smooshy like the store bought ones. [firefox doesn't think smooshy is a word, lol!]
Thank goodness, Howard is first!
ReplyDeleteAnd puddle is still first here, having been born first among us (as far as I know). ♥
ReplyDeleteHey guys. Sorry to leave good company last night, but I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.
ReplyDeleteSunday has rolled around again. Still my favorite day of the week.
That happens to me too, Susan. I guess that means the older we get the more we become like kittens, who play until they drop. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have been resting and writing today. May start a painting (at long last!) and get some gardening done. Ahhhhh.
