The Bernie Mittens Painting story...

Wendy Windbeckler 28 January I have to share the touching story about my Bernie Sanders painting that I shared on my timeline... because it brought tears to my eyes.
A few days ago I auctioned the Bernie mittens painting with proceeds going to Meals on Wheels. There were three people that bid on the painting.
The $125 bid won out & the very generous bidder sent me a photo of the receipt from Meals on Wheels & said he wanted me to send the painting to the other people, a couple, that bid on it, he felt they should have it, not him.
I contacted them with the surprising good news. As it turns out they were not bidding on the painting for themselves. The wife has a dear friend that has cancer & she was bidding on it to give to her as a gift.
So now I will mail the Bernie painting directly to her friend who will love having the Bernie smitten with mittens painting.
Call it what you will...paying it forward... generosity... a blessing... instinct... serendipity... synchronicity...
It looks like Love in action to me.
Thank you so much my generous friends for the love you share.

Candlemaking

The funny thing this year was that the cans of white, blue and pink wax were all heated in the same pan at the same time.  Yet the white candles are smooth, while the pink are a little bumpy and the blue is crazy bumpy.  I think the white is a higher quality wax.  Ah, but the yellow off to the left is such a high quality beeswax that it melts at a higher temperature and is a bit thicker wax.  Also, note in the photos above that the yellow candles are already done, though all the colours have had the same number of dips.
