Good Friday

I took this photo recently
while visiting the memorial garden I helped build.
This cross was hewn all by hand.

Inside the Library...

Where authors roamed.  The bust shown is of Louisa May Alcott.  The library was built in 1809, and she moved to Concord in 1848.  Emerson, Thoreau, Alcott and others used this library extensively.

Orchard House...

Where Louisa May Alcott wrote the book Little Women.  Her room is the upstairs room
behind the tree trunk, and she sat at a desk between those windows, to write.

OUR ROOTS!!

Not only is this photo OUR roots because they belong to a tree that is quite old, which sits on the site of a Revolutionary War battle in Massachusetts, but I picked this photo to remind us of OUR roots because Governor Howard Dean's records from his time in office in Vermont have just been unsealed, and they chronicle his transition from Governor to Presidential Candidate.  There's a related article:  If you don't see a photo of Howard Dean, click on "purchase photo" and you'll get to see it large. ;-)  Click here to see the article.

Wishin' and a Prayin' for Tanner & Penelope

Well, all this Wishin' and a Prayin' and now there's White Smoke too!  Ha!
Pope Francis I"has a reputation for humility. His personal style is the antithesis of Vatican splendour, living in a small apartment instead of a grander bishop's residence, taking public transport and cooking his own meals."  Well, that's something at least.  I highly recommend watching the movie "Saving Grace" starring Tom Conti as the Pope.
Excellent, poignant and humourous!
