Inside the Library...

Where authors roamed.  The bust shown is of Louisa May Alcott.  The library was built in 1809, and she moved to Concord in 1848.  Emerson, Thoreau, Alcott and others used this library extensively.

  2. Mr. Tom Kitten went away t his morning. We all feel absolutely wretched about it, but there didn't seem to be any alternative. I'm trying to stay busy, keep my mind occupied.

Waiting for Steve and Fred to get back to me. I sent Steve "World Enough and Time," since it contains brief references to Glass Hammer and I wanted to make sure they were comfortable with that before submitting the story anywhere. Sent it to Steve and asked him to pass it along, since I couldn't find Fred's e-mail address. But neither of them has gotten back to me. If I don't hear today, I'll message Steve on FB to check his e-mail.

Have been working with my favorite editor at Fun Trivia getting a new quiz in shape. It's a whimsical little story involving a handsome, green-eyed Englishman and a curly-haired, blue-eyed Welshman (that is to say Engelbert and Tom Jones, though of course they're never named in the story, just the Englishman and the Welshman). The player has to fill in blanks, either literally or by choosing the correct answer, with titles of Engelbert's songs. The editor, Agony, is kind and patient. I've already explained my visual disability, so she understands there are fine points I don't grasp. And she made some helpful suggestions. She said it's a cute idear and not to worry, we can get the difficulties worked out; so, that's encouraging.

I just finished Agatha Christie's Sleeping Murder. Enjoyed it. I always enjoy Miss Marple tales. I had the murderer figured out fairly early, but couldn't see the motive, and then of course there were a couple other likely prospects. So, the unmasking of the murderer was satisfying.

BTW great photo, listener. Even before reading the title, I thought it must be the inside of a library. That space must be especially charged with awe and magic beyond the atmosphere of an ordinary library. Imagine all that brain power and talent in the air?

    2. Super busted heart to hear of the passing of Mr. Tom! May he prowl from strength to strength in the Kingdom with the Cats in Light! And may the imagery and meaning of Easter this Sunday be for you a true balm. =^. .^=
