Hoping to take family members sailing! ⛵️

  1. Note on the last thread.

No sailing today as it will be humid and 88°F and feature very little wind.

But most folks who’d like to sail can still return.

  2. Trump Reopens Feud with Brian Kemp in Georgia [Click] Sounds like it could well discourage Republican voters come the election. “Popular Republican Governor,” with “vaunted ground game operation,” [Trump] “instantly unsettled Georgia Republicans, who warned Trump’s comments threaten his already shaky prospects in the state.” All sounds good to me—— as well as typical of Trump.

“I think Harris is gonna win. I don’t think it’s gonna be close… Maybe Oct 20th it’s just gonna fall apart for Trump.”
    — Former GOP strategist Stuart Stevens, quoted by the New Republic.

  6. On Thursday, Senate Republicans blocked a bill that would expand the Child Tax Credit — the very policy that Vance has championed and just accused Kamala Harris of opposing. Vance didn’t show up for the vote. Killing the proposal was a loss to roughly 16 million children in low-income working families, who would have benefited from about $700 in tax relief this year. Estimates from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities show that the proposal would have lifted at least 500,000 children above the poverty line and raised the family incomes for at least 5 million more poor children.

  9. The good news is that The Arty Blog now has both a right sidebar and a left sidebar. The bad news is that they are not correctly positioned on either side of the main blog content, but rather below it. However, your blog mistress is tired and befuddled, and is going to leave it for now.
