It's Monarch Season! 🐛
We have seen exactly ONE Monarch Butterfly all season.
Then we found three caterpillars on our Milkweed.
All three have now made their chrysalises
and will hatch out in the next 10 days.

George said they'd be putting up billboards on the highways. Didn't realize they'd place one outside Mara Lago. Brilliant! Or should I say fiendishly clever? I'd feel sorry for the poor dumb son of a bitch if he weren't a complete and utter monster.

Looking out toward the mountains after having pulled weeds this afternoon, it looked like a bit of smoke was visible. A white haze is normal, but this was a little red-brown.

We had a bit of weather today. Trees and power lines are down all over Vermont. Lots of power outages. Our lights flickered but we never lost power, even though we got this message from Green Mountain Power at 6:49pm:
