I hope puddle and Susan are getting some sleep tonight, and that California gets to be the third largest economy. Makes me have to go check out who's on First...and second...!
Okay, I'm rooting for US, Japan, California... Though, it does seem odd that a state gets to compete with countries instead of simply being included in its own country.
BTW, that Peace Rose plant is still going strong, with a bunch more buds about to open...if it survives the coming nights in the 30's. But it's fine through tomorrow, at very least.
So, I got my *third* booster (Omicron variant) and my flu shot this afternoon. Usually the worst effect I have is a slightly sore arm and sleepiness. Although with my very abbreviated ability to sleep this week it could be entirely unrelated. Makes a nice cover though. "Oh, well I got my booster you know, so it just knocked me out and I have to sleep all day." People would buy that, right?
You're a better woman than I am, Gunga Din! Given that the Covid vaccines and boosters had each laid me flat with high fever, chills and horrific headache, I didn't dare get both the Bivalent booster and the flu shot together. Turned out neither bothered me at all. LOL!
OMG! While I was shopping this afternoon, the Democratic candidate for Congress came by, chatted with Naomi and left his card! Back about 1986 a city council candidate knocked on our door (I was at work) to solicit our vote(s), and here comes another politician--- that's two in thirty-six years! Think I should bar the door? I will send him an e-mail shortly to tell him he's too late-- I already voted for him.
I got my ballot marked and ready to mail tomorrow. Finally figured out that I should use the magnifying lens at the bottom of my glasses rather than a separate magnifier. But I still don't understand how anyone, even with good enough eyesight that they never make a mistake, can consider filling in scores of circles easier than touching a screen with opportunity to correct mistakes.

DeleteLOL The spouse is writing a novel in which he suggests California be devided into three states for fairer representation.
DeleteI've heard that suggestion. Seriously. Also the suggestion that Alaska be divided to make Texas the third largest state by area.
DeleteThe spouse at my house thinks we should give Texas to Mexico and give Florida to Cuba....to make America great again.
DeleteWell, I'm looking forward to a Democratic Senator from Florida. Maybe a Democratic Governor as well.

DeleteSeveral years back I got the new pneumococcus vaccine and something else (shingles?) together and it was pretty uncomfortable.
