Late Season Grace Rose

The late season roses are always exquisite because...no bugs!

  1. I made a comment last night, but I apparently didn't push "publish" so it's floating around somewhere (probably in Zuck's metaverse). Still only have a slightly sore arm after yesterdays duo of shots, but my right cheekbone feels like I got kicked by a mule! Never had *that* reaction before.
So my vanished comment was about how astonishingly beautiful the foliage is this season. I have never seen it this lush and colorful. When I drove home Tuesday a high wind came up and suddenly I was driving in a gorgeous blizzard of red, gold and yellow leaves. It was a little like I imagine driving through a snow globe or a kaleidoscope would be.
Also, reading on a gossip site, Prince Harry's book "Spare" will be released on January 10, 2023, so I rushed right over to Amazon to pre-order that baby. Both he and Meghan have families that have treated them horribly and my heart aches for them. I hope his book makes a ZILLION dollars.
Oh! And be sure if you sustain any injuries in the next few days to call your local political officials for an appointment and a consultation.
Excuse any typos please. I'm having some medical issues with my eyes. They're pretty old, ya know.

    1. No political injuries here yet, but I did look around for irregular "election monitors" when I deposited my ballot in the drop box-- no luck. I wonder how they would react to being photographed; probably not well.

    2. Ohhh, I love your description of the brilliant leaves coming down around you as being inside a kaleidoscope! Yes, indeed. It has been a gorgeously vibrant foliage season here as well...as we did not get a drought here over the Summer, as much of the rest of the northeast did. If we had to have a season that went unseasonably long, I'm glad it was this one.

I don't like the sound of that KBM award the shots gave you. May it soon dissipate!

And thanks for the heads up about SPARE. Too bad it's not going to be available before Christmas. It would be great with a box of chocolates for the Icelandic tradition of Jolabokoflod!

    1. Here's hoping that madness doesn't manifest in my town, as I'm working at the polls...!

  3. Hey there, puddle...

I tried to call twice today after 5:00pm, but it just rang and rang so long that Verizon came on and told me that you weren’t available. May I call you on Friday sometime between 4:00 and 5:30pm? Let me know a time, so we’re both at our phones. The number I’m using ends in 08. Holler if that’s incorrect!! I also emailed you the whole number I'm using, incase your email is functioning today.

    Lemme no.
    We’ll get there yet!!

  4. Once upon a time I had puddle's real address, but I can't find it anymore. I would love to send her letters 'cause I miss her and the internet just isn't getting it. IN FACT, I was on YAHOO, for God's sake, and here comes a CAPTCHA notice from FACEBOOK. Mark better quit playing with his toys and straighten that shit out!

    2. puddle...is 13 a better address these days than the former 88....?

    3. The difference now days is that that mail gets held und\till a frien, visito, or neighbor picks it up and brings it here or not. If UPS delivers it, it comes to the house. When UPS chooses the sure mail option, it's into the box.The DVD player they tell me was delivered today wasn't.

I have a neighbor in the habit of pcking up mine, the the sorting slot next to mine and redelivering to the PO, wet or worst, missing. Finally decided paying ^^ a year to keep it out of his hands was a price well paid. . . . .

    4. So, the Box 13 address is the best option. Got it.

    1. I've lived with it for so long I don't even think about it's being something that *could be changed, lol! To the degree I do think about it, am proud, and pleased, and glad I'm no closer to green Bank than I am.

    2. My son who was an astronomy minor, visited it once. and everyone had to leave their cars in the lot, and ride bikes left there for that purpose. Several of our local high schoolers got major scholarships to high teck big time universities by their work with the Green Bank scientists. to visit the telescope.

    3. I remember reading about the Australian equivalent; I think they have a specialized bus with an electronically shielded engine. It seems to me that they could use one with a stream engine. Any kind of experience at Green Bank sure ought to attract attention on a college application. I wondered if proximity might limit cell phone use, but the article says most people are not close enough for that.

    4. It was at the Australian radio observatory that they noticed a pulsed signal for a short period of time after a particular galaxy rose. Then it happened again the next night, and the next! They finally traced it to a microwave oven in the break room, and a worker who used it to warm his/her supper each night.
