Agree, Alan! The Republicans are really heartless to drag him out and prop him up as a candidate when it is PAINFULLY clear that he is not functioning normally. He has a really sordid history that the Republicans excuse just for the "R" after his name. He is even more stupid that trump, which is why trump likes him. He makes trump feel like the "Jenius" he claims to be. (When trump was asked about his middle initial "J" trump said it stands for "jenius". Really. Republicans have put up so very many deeply flawed candidates and then funded them to excess. The R's are desperate to win. They want the power to exact revenge against the Democrats - and, by extension - the American public, regardless of Party.
Republicans are committed to a stratified society and perceive election as comparable to inherited influence and wealth. They are authoritarians because they are addicted to authority, somebody to blame for whatever goes wrong. From that perspective, Walker is an ideal target because he lacks the sense to even know he's being exploited. Yes, it is shameful. Have you ever read Shirley Jackson's short story "The Lottery"? You can find it on the internet and read it for free.
Susan, you may want to submit that new word to the Oxford English Dictionary for consideration. I'd be interested to see what definition you'd write for "Jenius."
I'm glad they tested these Asian wasps with our native insects to ensure the locals aren't wiped out by them along with their hoped for decimation of their natural enemy, the Emerald Ash Borer. Sure do hope what works in the lab works as well in the field. When I hear "wasp" I think of the ones we already have that are parasitic to Monarchs.
I don't recall how it turned out, but I remember back when I was a kid they released some wasps that it was hoped would control the scotch broom that had become a pest. Maybe I should look that up--that would have been about 60 yeas ago.
