There is a new series on Amazon Prime called Solos. Each is a one person hour with a sci fi story that is poignant and points to how interconnected we really are. The first episode shows Anne Hathaway as a scientist trying to connect to herself in the future. In the course of the conversation with herself it is mentioned (as a future from now event) about the time "Trump ran away to Russia." Made me laugh out loud!
One suspects they are suddenly remembering the one/two punch that was the ACA followed by Dodd/Frank which, after many legal challenges survives for the simple reason that benefits delivered cannot then be arbitrarily rescinded because they become a property right. Presumably, although it went against their antagonism towards providing, the CARES Act has been rationalized as an exception dealing with a pnademic that will not soon come again. Reaallocating unspent funds via the Mega RESCUE Act represents a deveopment from which there is no return. Nothing is going to be the same.
The weather app only shows a flash flood warning, not relevant to those of us near the secondary continental divide. The Tribune mentions a tornado watch (not warning) but with few details. No siren.
Hi Bill, So good to hear all is well with you. There definitely was a Tornado WARNING for the north part of Chicago, based on a radar hook. I'm not sure whether a tornado formed on the ground, but when the radar suggests there is one, it's time to trust oneself to the basement. No siren is good news.
I later saw on Facebook that somebody said there had been a tornado warning for the Loop. But that is still 8 miles away and east of here. That tornado continued further east over the lake.
