  1. In many of the pictures you can see Mrs. Kavanaugh sitting behind her husband. She looks so very tired and defeated. He was so out of control in front of the Senate panel I wonder what she's had to endure at home.

    1. When he said that his 10 year old daughter had said, "We should pray for the woman", I wondered the same thing, Susan.

  2. The same question was sloshing around in the back of my mind, Susan. It must have been/be Hell. And for the children, too. Did you notice they were all dressed in black, although a little less formally so than for a funeral?

The Republican party is about to face the wrath of women [Click] "Women aren’t just mad – they’re organized and mobilized politically in a way we’ve never quite seen before." Works for me.

Brett Kavanaugh's credibility has not survived this devastating hearing [Click]

    1. The other day I saw on Aunty Beeb a piece which quoted women who believed Prof. Ford and an equal number of women who either didn't believe her or supported Kavanaugh anyway. The reporter did not say if it was difficult to find the latter. But that report does sort of make me question the accuracy of phrases like "the wrath of women." Also, I would caution against hubris, or perhaps irrational exuberance. Remember that pride goeth before destruction, and we all know how adept the Dems are at snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory. There will be time enough to gloat when and if a blue tide washes Congress clean.

  3. zipping through the Swallows and Amazons series. I'm currently about halfway through the fifth book, Cloot Club. In this one a group of children, with some adult supervision, are sailing all over the Norfolk broads. I know it would be more prudent to draw the books out, but they are so exciting, such wonderful reads that I can't help pressing on to find out what happens next. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a book, let alone a series, so much.

  4. America Is Finally Listening to Women. It’s Sparking a National Crisis. [Click] A crisis, not a decline. Not unlike lancing an infected wound.

I salute others who sat through the Kavanaugh circus—I couldn’t have done that. The impressions I am left with is that he is dishonest, a crybaby, a spoiled brat, and not just totally, but absolutely, lacking in judicial temperament.

Pelosi Says Kavanaugh Was Hysterical at Hearing [Click] Yes, indeed.
