Very fine indeed. So many paths lie open, so many their entrances not discernible. Hope it's been a happy day.
I had what seems to be a "you're a fossil" experience today. I had to enlarge a groove in a concrete sidewalk and went looking for a star drill. (A steel masonry bit that is driven with a hammer and turned by hand.) At hardware stores A, B, and C I didn't find any, although I did find very expensive electric tools that would do the same job--some cordless; if any were internet-enabled or smartphone controlled I don't want to know. At stores A and C I asked for a star drill and the clerks didn't know what I was talking about. I did find a masonry chisel that did a passable job, although a star drill would have been better. I just now looked up "star drill" on wikipedia, in google images, and on Amazon.com--and found them in each place. So I'm not so far out of date--just not as lazy and free with my money as typical Fresnans, evidently.
New GOP polls out--the Trumpster keeps rolling along; it looks like he is going to single-handedly get the GOP candidate field down to size, and fast. And it looks more and more like the nominations are not a sure thing for either Jeb Bush or HRC.
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders capped a weekend in Louisiana with a Sunday night rally attended by some 4,500 people at the Pontchartrain Center near New Orleans. “I don’t know that we can squeeze any more people in here,” Sanders said as he looked out on the cheering, sign-waving crowd packing the convention hall. “Some people told me Louisiana was a conservative state. I guess not.” “Which leads me to why I am here. I think my colleagues in the Democratic Party have made a serious mistake. They have written off half of America, including Louisiana. The time is now for us to fight in 50 states in the country,” he said.
And Dean is still First.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, six! Many, many happy returns of the day!

ReplyDeleteAnd if that doesn't work, there's always that ruby slipper in the background, waiting.
