  2. Some of the cabinet doors are up! We're only abut 20% done, but we've hit the knee of the learning curve. We are BOTH working tomorrow, then back to hang more doors. If needed, the rest can go up on Saturday as Son & D-I-L move in SOOOO excited about them moving back up here!!! Grandson was born and they moved away a few months later. He's over 2 now and has a little sibling due in October :-)

    1. My wife was just telling me it was 90 today (I think upper 80s) and I should have worn shorts. But with decent humidity and a good breeze, I don't think shorts are required.

  5. Cold snap here--down from 109 deg. F to 107…

Flight from San Diego to Fresno cancelled (mechanical problem, no alternate flights available). Bus rolled into Fresno airport at 0415. I could sleep some on the bus, slept in at home and arrived at work late; my No. 2 had all the alcohol testing under way and turned down my offer to take over for her, so I was able to catch up on absolutely everything else I had to do and get home at a reasonable time. Very soon to bed tonight, and will rest as much as possible at the hospital this weekend. Off to Oakland for court on Monday (Miyoko will drive more of the way than usual). No rest for the wicked, eh?

listener--I have mentioned it to the Bernie campaign before, but please pass this along: their bumper stickers etc. are NOT educational enough. Considering that about 70-75% of voters evidently have not heard of Bernie, their advertising should say

    Bernie SANDERS FOR PRESIDENT 2016.

Another satisfied customer in San Diego--the Public Defender called this afternoon to tell me the jury came back with a not-guilty of DUI verdict and that the jurors had very positive comments about my testimony. They said I helped clarify matters considerably for them, and made sense of the testimony of the prosecutor's forensic toxicologist. They also seemed to think I was quite even-handed. All good, nice to hear. (BTW, I managed to get a general laugh out of the jury when I was being cross-examined by the prosecutor--I can't recall what the joke was, but that is always a good sign.) I figured the prescription drugs were incidental findings, and the levels ruled out abuse. Very reasonable alternate explanations for all that happened, so there was reasonable doubt of guilt. Hmmmmm....this sounds too much like tooting my own horn; but I am gratified.
