  2. A very high-quality pun! Sorry about the 90 degrees--probably with high humidity to boot. I am going to be very busy this week and at least part of next. San Diego for the public defender on Thursday, Oakland on Monday for the D.A. And a long shift at the hospital this weekend to boot. The DA wanted me in Oakland Thursday, but San Diego was first in line.

Seeing the kind of crowds Bernie can bring out in "red" states, combined with the timidity (so far) of HRC's campaign, I am beginning to wonder if Bernie might be able to pick off quite a few delegates in states that HRC's advisers consider lost causes, as well as ones they take for granted (e.g. California). Granted that Bernie is far from a fresh face in Vermont, to most of the country he IS a fresh face--and Americans like that in their presidential candidates. A fresh face who is at the same time an experienced practical politician--someone who can work a crowd and think on his feet; a very dangerous opponent!

    1. An email from Bernie yesterday said 75,000 people have signed up for his Organizing Kickoff events. That's claimed to be a record. Does anyone know the maximum number of people attending Howard's Meet-ups?

    2. Thanks. I had a feeling he hadn't quite beaten Howard yet. Although his staff can argue this isn't *quite* the same thing.

    3. They can try, Bill. But whatever happens, Howard Dean did it first and Bernie couldn't be doing this so easily if he hadn't.

    4. Oh yes. Howard led the way. No question about that. I think there is a very strong argument that Barak wouldn't be POTUS if it weren't for Howard. (The Obama campaign destroyed the local DFA meet-up because nobody had time to attend meetings any more.)
