Taking it Easy

  1. Hear Thee! Hear Thee! Howard Dean, regular aethel he is!

BTW, the "y" in "ye" (e.g. "Hear Ye", or "Ye Olde Coffee Shoppe") is actually a distorted letter "thorn," later printed as a "y," and people have long since taken to pronouncing it as a "y" just because of its appearance.

Glad to hear the youngsters in Vermont are getting corrupted by Shakespeare! Maybe The Tempest next year? Or during thunderstorm season?

  2. Odd that I would post "Taking it Easy" for a Saturday! Ha! Went to work, came home and went to look at couches (long-range planning), then picked up VT*Grand, and there went the evening. :-) Am hand-dipping candles while I wait for a wash to finish. Then I need to hit the hay…but I get to sleep in, as Grandad and VT*Grand are going to do breakfast.

Alan, I believe I once lang syne knew that the Y was really a "TH" that got miscomprehended, but haven't thought of that in many years. Thanks!!

So far the Troupe seems to prefer Shakespeare's comedies, which is great because their strongest players are fabulous with comedy!!
