Our new wallpaper (the real kind, not the computer kind), for our living room...
The background is cream/pale golden, not grayish as it seems here. Picture it with rosewood stain on cherry woodwork and mantle, all painted surfaces the same as the background, and a brown carpet similar to the berries here. We have really had to think about the carpet, as we've always had light colours. But they are also miserable to keep clean. Ha! I think it will look smashing at Christmas!
Howard's first again and again!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the wallpaper, listener! It's gorgeous!
About the carpet. . . . Is there any way you can get a piece of it to live with (say a five by seven rug or a three by five) before you do the whole thing? I had a deep red rug once. . . . It was beautiful, but it linted up like you wouldn't believe: the most care intensive floor I've ever had to deal with. The white rug was easier. . . .
Thanks, puddle!
DeleteI appreciate you relaying your carpet experience. You'd have to see the carpet we're considering. It is mostly that rosewood brown, but with flecks of tan and some of almost black, mixed in. It's highly practical, and would look great the stonework in our hearth. We're still mulling.
Whew!
DeleteThat sounds very practical, listener.
DeleteOn the way home this afternoon (well before sundown! Yay!) I saw that some pistachio orchards were just starting to leaf out. Daytime temperatures in the 70's here these days.

Just ordered seasons 3, 4, & 5 of "As Time Goes By." Hope I don't wear out the first two before they arrive. . . .
