The bay will soon be filled in with boats.

  1. Still Friday evening here. Physical therapist stopped by in the afternoon and increased my workout some. Finished re-reading "The Mouse That Roared;" must have read it the first time at least 50 years ago, and it is still dandy. I had forgotten enough of it in the interval to make it that much more enjoyable.

    1. Saw on a county health department map that the flu risk hereabouts is fairly high.

  3. Why did 30 Met officers kick the door down at a teenage tea and biscuits meeting in a Quaker meeting house? [Click] "When six young women hired a room to discuss the war in Gaza, the gathering ended with 30 officers storming in to make arrests."

    1. "when the government are after the Quakers, you know you’re in trouble.”

Geesh! How many officers does it take to arrest a young woman? Five apiece?! What a bunch of lily-livered doodle-heads!

When I read your post, Alan, I thought this had happened here in the States. I'm sad it was in the UK!

    2. Scotland Yard (The Met) has mishandled a lot of things for a long time. But not knowing what Quakers are? It boggles the mind.

  5. In spite of being on antibiotics, Pumpkin has been having more accidents and we were up with her a lot last night. This morning she was panting a lot and seeming to be in distress, so we ended up taking her to the vet. Anyway, we went ahead and scheduled her surgery for the next available, which will be this Wednesday.

    1. You are awesome pet parents! How old is Pumpkim? Was the vet able to make her comfortable, to help her bear it until surgery?

    2. Pumpkin will be 10 in September. I was trying to be delicate, or something, but she actually passed a fairly large stone while at the vet, and she's been way more comfortable since then.

    3. Here's hoping it is taken care of; stones can be very painful. Some years back I read about a method of removing them in humans by putting the the person into a bath and sonicating,

    4. Here's hoping it is well and soon taken care of; some years ago I read about a new method of getting rid of them in humans by immersing the patient in a bath and sonicating, reducing the stones to something resenbling sand.

  7. My day began at 6:00am! Got to the Boat Club around 8:00am and folks were already hard at work moving boats and getting the place prepped for the Summer. We didn't know it was an all-work-camp sort of day. But we had rakes with us and raked a lot of pinecones and whatnot and helped spiff up. Then there was a brief Meet the Committee Chairs orientation for new members. We also got a mini-tour so now we know where the ice machine is and so on. The most important part was getting our mooring gear together so the harbor team can get it all set up on our mooring! 9 days to go 'til Loch Nest gets to her mooring!!

  8. In the photo there is one boat on the Bay. Today there were four. When they're all in place there will be nearly 200...!
