  1. An exceptional number of interesting stories at Politicalwire.com [Click] this morning, I think none of them good news for TFG. The legacy press and political prognosticators seem to be waking up to (albeit not fully conscious of) the fact that polls have little predictive value. One thing of note is the length of Ms Harris’s speeches— typically about 20 minutes, which we were taught in our public speaking class is about right. Even her acceptance speech of 38 minutes was the shortest since Mondale’s in 1984.

    1. Perusing the Howard University catalogue, I see that public speaking is a significant part of the curriculum, with both lower and upper division classes.

    1. I had skipped over that report; after all, how could one screw up an order at a doughnut shop? But now I have an illustration.

  5. This Fusion Tech is Solving the Geothermal Energy Problem [Click] As memory serves me, research on such things was being carrie out at Los Alamos National Laboratory quite some time ago, although it seems that Los Alamos is currently working on geothermal power sources drilled by conventional means. 6. I'm glad nordy wrote up something about the Dean call--I'm not sure I would have been able to remember that much. But I did think it was adorable to hear him say "idear" a few times. ;)
