Alan and Bill, I've read The Left Hand of Darkness at least twice, once in a really dreadful recording from Recordings for the Blind and several years later from NLS. It is a remarkable book. Must have read it more than twice, actually, because I wrote a paper on it in grad school - not one of my better papers if memory serves, but then it is a rich and complex novel. Maybe it's time to read it again. Curiously, the recording on offer from Audible is narrated by a woman. Why you would have a book with a male first person narrator read by a woman is beyond me, but there it is. The NLS recording is by a male narrator.
