UKRAINE (The Borowitz Report)—After six months of what seemed at times an unwinnable battle, on Saturday the Ukrainian army scored a stunning victory over Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Jubilant Ukrainian soldiers cheered as news spread that their despised foe from Georgia’s 14th congressional district had been dealt a humiliating defeat.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who greeted his front-line troops with a flurry of high fives, declared, “This is a war between freedom and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Ukraine chooses freedom.”
Answering a reporter’s question, Zelensky signaled that he might be open to direct talks with Greene, but added, “We would need an interpreter since only I speak English.”
On Sunday, Greene was still fuming about Ukraine’s win, telling Fox News, “I don’t see why Zelensky needs more weapons when he already has space lasers.”
Trump’s $175 Million Bond Can Stand [Click] But it has to remain as “cash” in a money market account that can only be used to pay the bond if needed. —Alan
Thinking about Trump's current trial, I testified before juries as an expert almost five hundred times during my career. When I saw jurors nodding as I testified, I knew I was doing a good job. When I could get a laugh out of the jury I knew I had them. You might think that in really serious cases there would be no opening for humor, but sometimes there is. I didn't indulge in premeditated humor-- it just seemed to happen spontaneously from time to time. Now to investigate the day's reporting for the Trump case. ----Alan
At about 14 minutes, there is a table showing where the jurors and alternates report getting their news; I was struck by the rather limited number of news sources they typically relied upon. ----Alan
I like these guys too. Re news sources: One of the Legal AF guys kept lamenting half-seriously on a recent hot take that none of the jurors listed Legal AF as one of their regular news sources.
Had to grin when I saw that DT complained today about how "fast" the jury was selected and that they are "95% Democrats" and how it is all so unfair. LOL Couldn't help thinking of that video Alan posted a few days ago where the guy says that any insult to the jury by a defendant comes back to haunt the defendant. DT seems to be digging his place deeper all the time.
Definitely the best explanation I have heard; thanks, listener. It really is amazing. As for a cosmic ray or some other such energetic particle zapping a bit of a computer's memory, that happens pretty frequently right here on earth. Even if you encase a hard drive in lead and store it in a freezer, it can be rendered unusable by a zapperon [I think I just invented that word-- and rather like it] that hits the area that records the locations of data [the proper word for that portion of the hard drive escapes me at the moment; Wil probably knows.] ---Alan
Extraordinary new evidence for prehistoric ploughing in Europe [Click] Seven thousand years ago!

Also rock art displaying ploughing about 5,000 years ago.

Thanks, Alan. Fascinating! I subscribed.
DeleteIt makes sense that plowing would arrive with cereal cultivation, but being able to prove it is great, and the rock art is a great bonus.

SCOTUS Will Hear Appeal of ‘Ghost Gun’ Regulations [Click] Can’t say that I am particularly sanguine about the chances of them supporting the federal regulations, but hope springs eternal.
