    1. Good-- but sooner would certainly have been better.

  2. Predicted high temperatures in the eighties, falling into the seventies in a couple of days. Clear sky this morning, aside from the typical (and natural) summer haze that partially obscures the mountains. Cumulus clouds will probably build up over the mountains this afternoon.

    1. Yeah, Vermont really felt the effects of climate change with last year's flood. Senator Anne Watson is former mayor of Montpelier. She is also a science and math teacher! One of the people I sit with in spiritual guidance is at the forefront of some of the legislation.

  5. Trump Falls Into His Own Trap with Unlicensed Legal Advisor [Click] I am reminded that when Antonio Salazar was dying and confined to bed, his “advisors” had a special edition of the most important Portuguese newspaper printed for him, to convince him that everything was being done as he wanted. That is qualitatively different from Trump being trailed by a person charged with finding and printing out Internet stories that he will like. Salazar was a competent economist, and a skillful politician to boot. He managed to keep Portugal out of WWII and independent of Franco’s Spain, although not free of problems.

    3. I listened to him the other day, when you posted the link, and was really impressed about how a jury bonds over time and punishes defendants who don't show them proper respect. Excellent.

  10. Wow. Yesterday we uncovered our boat for the season. Today we put in the lifelines and cowls. Then!!! We went to West Marine and bought (on sale!) a really nice GPS device that gets set into the hull of the boat, and displays your speed, the depth around you, shows charts, and even has a countdown timer for races. Plus a whole lot more. It's my anniversary gift to Wil and he's absolutely tickled. A new toy!

  11. Lots of people here are celebrating Earth Day tomorrow with a Green Up Day. I'm not...not yet. Our low tonight is going to be 26ºF, so it's too early to disturb hibernating bees. I'll wait until it's consistently 50ºF and do some raking then.

  14. This afternoon I found myself wondering how, if I were a juror in the Trump case, I would avoid reading or hearing any news about it. I settled on watching some of the movies I have on DVD's.
