Texas worker accused of being on drugs was actually dying of heatstroke [Click] I remember a similar case around here several years ago; the doctors diagnosed a drug overdose when a screening test detected a medicine he had been given in the emergency room. Nowadays not only are appropriate preventive measures required of employers, but there are warning billboards posted to warn and educate workers, in both English and Spanish. The other day we saw a farming company pickup truck pulling a trainer loaded with a pallet of bottled water. Damn Abbot; heatstroke is real bad way to go. ----Alan —Alan
A priest I once knew served in Texas in his early years as clergy. His wife told me that when they were moving as they drove past the Texas state line, her husband stopped the car, got out and kissed the ground.
I slept 8 hours, even though I skipped the med. If I couldn't sleep I'd have taken it, but wasn't keen on possible side effects of blurred vision and dizziness unless desperate...!
Then, today I found a single Black Swallowtail caterpillar! Whoo hoo! Nice addition to the Butterfly Nursery. The lone Monarch caterpillar is getting big enough to find easily, and the two Monarch eggs are gestating.
Meanwhile, Mama Robin is being wonderfully vigilant. Still three unhatched eggs, but we will likely have chicks in the next 2-4 days.

Ten day forecast here remains in the low hundreds. The weeds are growing famously.

DeleteAnd it's gotten way worse since then.
Why does the Barbie movie have Republicans in such a tizzy? [Click] Hey, if they don’t like it, don’t watch it— like abortions; if you don’t approve, don’t have one.

Really, we can't expect Republicans to know geography.

Plus! We don't actually have smoky skies today. That cleared out yesterday and I am very grateful.
ReplyDeleteAnd gooder! I thought it seemed slightly cooler today, and so it was--just barely reached 100F.
