    1. I imagine gilded bars and toilet. Maybe a mattress with a thousand-dollar bill pattern.

  5. 9AM and raining here; 0.4 inch predicted today, 0.3 inch tonight, none to speak of tomorrow. It was a little windy earlier, but is calm now. The river is still a little lower than its maximum a couple of days ago. Yesterday I saw a report that the large reservoir upstream is a little over 150% of normal for date, and 85% of capacity.

    1. Temps here have gone back to seasonable, 20s and 30s. It's overcast, but the weather app claims there's no appreciable chance of precipitation.

    Thanks, Alan’s and puddle!

We are nearly there. We are the lucky ones. There is a stretch of road on the Vermont interstate that is legendary for being icy. Southbound (where we traveled) wasn’t too bad, but apparently northbound was treacherous today, as there were multiple accidents and a truck caught fire, shutting down the interstate for several hours. No snow at all here in Maine.

    2. Out of idle curiosity, which freeways did you take? Looking at the map I can imagine more than one route, but all's well that ends well.

    3. We traveled VT I-89 south to NH I-91 south to Rte 101 west, then I-95 north into Maine.

    4. Thanks, Cat!

This morning we head back the same way as far as Hooksett any, to visit with more family. Looks like an easy drive back Sunday evening, as the weather will be dry and I hear they seriously salted that VT stretch by Bolton, VT … which is a windy mountain pass area between Bolton Mountain and Camel’s Hump.
