We had a short (maybe ten minutes) power failure last night, around 9PM. Maybe a driver attacked a power pole. When we first moved in here about 25 years ago we had more and longer power failures, but the power lines and equipment were old, and I think they have all been replaced. Quite rare now. ----Alan
What I want to know is who gave the names and phone numbers of the donors whom Santos' aide called while pretending to be McCarthy's chief of staff. Congress is not allowed to use federal assets, which is what office employees are, to solicit monetary contributions. When the members solicit donations, they have to go to off-site call centers. If the donors were not surprised to be contacted by the chief of staff, that is a problem. No wonder McCarthy does not want to talk about it.

On the train on my way home. Enjoyed the con, although I don't push panel attendance as I used to. My own two panels went well, the reading not so much. If I'm going to read from the tablet there are settings I need t o jigger.
Glad you had a good time at the con, Bill. As to the tablet: Yes, it pays to investigate the settings thoroughly. That really is time well spent. I'm sure I don't use my own iPad to the fullest of its capacity.

Much the same is true here. Now we occasionally have brief outages, nothing like the frequent, prolonged ones in the 80s and 90s.
