I might add on the sanctions levied against Trump and the lawyer were in response to a suit that targeted some twelve people, in addition to Clinton, and the judges are apparently running out of patience. A couple dealing with insurrectionists have now taken the opportunity to refer to Trump's responsibility. Oddly the mainstream media nattering about the 2024 election are ignoring the coming legal actions, both criminal and civil. In the recently released depositions for the E. Jean Carroll assault ahd defamation case it seems Trump was unable to differentiate between the plaintiff and Marla Maples. Wonder if his attorneys will argue he's got severe cognitive deficits.
I'm no lawyer, but it's hard for me to see why the fact scientists employed by Exxon knew as much as the rest of the scientific community changes anything.
They explicitly misrepresented the contents of their scientists; published papers? I don't think that comes through in the article and would seem excessively stupid given the ease with which the papers they refer to could be checked.
To be explicit: It is obvious that they wre making statements contrary to the weight of scientific evidence. I don't see how the fact some of that evidence was coming from their own scientists changes things.
Now to see if Poland will send them. If I may be allowed to say so, Poland knows very well what it is like to be squeezed between Germany and Russia. ---Alan
“Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is ruling out a potential proposal from House Republicans that calls for triaging payments after the exhaustion of ‘extraordinary measures’ to avoid default on the federal debt,” Axios reports.
“Yellen said Friday that any failure to pay a government bill would constitute a debt default, insisting that her department doesn’t have the ‘systems’ to prioritize debt payments.”
Notes on the last thread! 😊

I do hope the Administration is laying the necessary plans to mint trillion dollar coins.

Mint and use, that is. The process is more complicated than just dropping them off at the Treasury.
