  2. Tom Bonier in the NYT: Women Are So Fired Up to Vote, I’ve Never Seen Anything Like It [Click] "With over two months until Election Day, uncertainty abounds. Election prognostication relies heavily on past precedent. Yet there is no precedent for an election centered around the removal of a constitutional right affirmed a half-century before. Every poll we consume over the closing weeks of this election will rely on a likely voter model for which we have no benchmark."

    1. Polling is designed to tell campaign managers whether their manipulative efforts are having the desired result--to encourage participation or disgust voters to get them to stay home. In 2020, Trump managed to get 20,000 Republicans to vote for all the candidates but him.
He still cannot believe he was shunned by 20,000 Republicans.

  3. Trader Joe’s broke labor laws in effort to stop stores unionizing, workers say [Click] Absolutely classical, stupid anti-union activities. Their legal consultant, Littler Mendelson, is infamous—but I should think even they would be a little smarter these days. I won’t be shopping at Trader Joe’s for the foreseeable future.

  6. A fine day here. Despite early drizzle, cool temps* and a bit of wind, we ate outside under a restaurant tent, with three of our sons and three of our granddaughters! It was in celebration of my 67th (which is next weekend.). Then all but myself went sailing, after which they all came to the house to receive copies of Grandad Wil's new book, specially autographed.

*59ºF midday! Four years ago today we had an all time high of 93ºF!
