  3. Predicted high temperature today 108F; power company asks us to conserve electricity from 4PM to 9PM (we get a bit of a reduction in charges for signing up to the program). I am thinking that once we have the mortgage paid off (at the end of this year) we should investigate solar power with battery storage. Our house has lots of solar potential, and the roof is getting on in years.

    3. It's hot, but way better than Phoenix, and we are prepared for it. The greatest danger by far is for farm workers, but they (and their employers) are actively encouraged to take precautions. Heatstroke is a really bad way to go.
