  2. Looking over the press summaries about yesterday's House hearing, I should think it is time for Trump to stuff one of his airplanes with cash and flee the country, like Ferdinand Marcos and Fulgencio Batista. But where would he go? Who would shelter him? Putin might fall on some bullets any time. Paraguay or the Central African Republic might not be up to the social sophistication he wishes to become used to. I don't think he has the social and political skills of King Farouk.

    1. Until yesterday, some of the Trumpisstas were feeling such cognitive dissonance that they claimed the Committee didn't really show Ivanka Trump, it must have been an actor impersonating her. I haven't heard what they had to say about a Republican Senator interviewing a Republican Aide, but they'll sure have some excuse. It's too confusing to have to shift your worldview.

That's okay. All we need is a landslide of intelligence in November. We should at least find that in the Justice Department...so the results of November aren't on such thin ice. Disqualify ANYONE who was involved in the coup attempt!

    1. His level of reality is not the same as the rest of us.

Colbert showed the video last night and it's like the guy tapped Giuliani's back with an open hand and that was all. What a baby!

    1. It seems that Powerswalls now come standard with lithium iron phosphate batteries (which last longer, can safely be charged and discharged 100%, and do not catch fire). Maybe we will do that after our mortgage is paid off (around the end of this year).

    1. Indeed, it does seem to bypass the paywall.

“a little-known but aggressive federal prosecutor” That works for me. Excerpts:

“who is executing the department’s time-tested, if slow-moving, strategy of working from the periphery of the events inward. . .with a mandate to go as high up the chain of command as the evidence warrants.” Sounds like RICO approach to me. Start at the bottom, give each successive target a choice between squealing on his/her boss or becoming a long-term guest of the government, then repeat at the next level up.

“Mr. Windom’s bosses appear to be intent on preserving his obscurity. . . That might not be a bad thing for Mr. Windom,”

  8. What would be involved in disqualifying for office ANYONE involved in the January 6th coup attempt? Wouldn't that honour the Constitution and solve a lot of issues going forward?

    1. {listener} What I wanna know is, when 14 members of Congress were expelled in 1862, for supporting the Confederacy, who among them voted? Were those who were being considered for expulsion allowed to vote or no? (A 2/3 majority is required.)

  10. TrumpForce One should be ready to fly again, either soon or now. [Click] Time to load it up with a mixed cargo of dollars and euros and be on his way to. . . where? Note: it seems that it would be a stretch for it to make it all the way from New York to Moscow without refueling. A fueling stop in Iceland should do the job quite nicely.

    1. I do not favour letting him fly away anywhere. He has gotten away with way too much in his nefarious lifetime. And I suggest we not put in the vicinity of one another any two criminals with dastardly minds and cruel lack of heart. I say he has to at very least be sent to a maximum security prison. The old fashioned fire squad would be appropriate, but I do not condone the death penalty.

    1. If memory serves me well, it has been shown that Neanderthalers ears matched the range of sounds modern humans hear, which implies that they spoke in the same range as well.

  12. It occurred to me to wonder how big the armed forces of Sweden and Finland are.

Sweden: 23,600 active personnel, 11,200 military reserves, 24,000 Home Guard and 5,200 conscripts (is to increase to 8 000 conscripts by 2024) at this time.

Finland: 3,350 staff, 640 civilians, 19,800 conscripts, 18,900 reservists in refresher training, 500 deployed in crisis management (i.e. UN missions); wartime strength 280,000 regulars plus 900,000 reserves. Reserves undergo regular retraining. The Finns fought three wars agains the Russians during the past century, and lost portions of their country to them. They are disinclined to be unprepared.
