    1. A commenter opined that this is the best political TV since John Dean testified against Nixon. Maybe even better, I think.

Can anyone here figure out what Trump meant by “Take the effing mags away…”?

    1. (Susan) He wanted them to get rid of the Magnetometer that screen for weapons. He wanted a bigger crowd than he had and he didn't care that some had AR-15s or spears or bear spray. He said "They're not here to hurt me" and he wanted his picture of a giant crowd. Because of his giant needy Ego.

    2. Thanks. Of course one can't expect him to fully pronounce a five-syllable word; I couldn't figure out a two- or three-syllable word that would work.

  5. In a closing statement, committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., told potential witnesses, "if you've suddenly remembered things you forgot, or gained some courage ... our door is open."

Praising Hutchinson, Thompson had a warning for others: "Because of this courageous woman and others like her, your attempt to hide the truth from the American people will fail."

    1. I don't see how this will change how I vote; but might it change the way Republicans, "independents," and those who customarily abstain from voting behave in upcoming elections? Might it bring about the collapse of Faux Gnus? Damned if I know.

  11. Primary day in Illinois. Probably the closest race of significance is my congressional district (7th), where lackluster incumbent Danny Davis holds a very slight lead over progressive challenger Kina Collins. We may not have a decision untii tomorrow. In other races I cared about, engineer Sean Casten has won the suburban 6th district (a race that, due to redistricting, pitted two incumbents) and meteorologist Eric sorensen holds a comfortable lead in the northwestern 17th district.

    1. {listener} Thanks, Bill! So interesting. Hurrah for the meteorologist.

    2. 95% of the vote is now in, and while they haven't called the 7th district it looks like incumbent Danny Davis's lead is holding up.

One interesting thing about meteorologist Eric Sorenson's victory is that the Tribune's review of the race essentially treated him as an als-ran.

    3. [Alan] Dare I suggest that a meteorologist might be good at figuring out how the would be blowing? [he ducks]

  12. {listener} Thanks for all the kind regards, folks. ๐ŸŒบ Wil and I had a very nice ramble today…visited a Toy museum! We ate a late lunch seated outdoors at a cafe, and enjoyed more of Vermont’s amazing views. Lots of great photos to share soon. ๐Ÿ‘.
