Based on the letters he wrote home, I think he was a kindred spirit. ~ listener
That was his church, and they were the ones who requested the naming of the Square.

DeleteThe US is said by some to be an imperial power, but it is an odd sort of empire. The Russian Federation and its predecessors are much more traditional empires.

DeleteYes, the U.S. is into rule by indirection. Commerce its favored tool now that it is no longer taking land and resources from owners without paying. Eminent domaine. Using the commerce clause to terminate discrimination in public accommodations was quite brilliant. If prohibiting trade can write finis to a war, it will be impressive.
