  1. Hey folks. listener here.
puddle and now Alan are having difficulty posting on the blog. I’ve been posting Alan’s comments for him as needed. Happy to. But am thinking we really may need a different system for going forward.
Are we ready to make a move?

    1. Republican bipartisanship is an oxymoron.

    2. Well, the parties/factions are an extra-legal invention to derail the influence of the people, who govern. Government by the people has never been universally accepted, but as long as some populations were effectively excluded, the men-folk were generally content. After the civil rights lawa and the lowering of the age of majority, things got serious. Father no longer knew best. Women insisted on rights and now, with a woman next in line to the presidency, desperation has set in. it was thought that Trump had stemmed the tide. The guy who tried to retain a Senate seat in Georgia by making fun of VP Harris lost. Now Trump is sticking with Perdue to keep his macho creds. Not going to work.
Majorie Taylor Green is not an exception, She merely validates that females can be disfemists.

    3. I'm old enough to remember when it wasn't. And even today they finally went along with a scaled-down infrastructure bill.

  3. Some fellow in NH suggested an ad of Trump doing the shuffle at the NRA intercut with images of the children who were cut down before their prime. Trump dancing on the graves of children or shuffling off to Buffalo might be potent.
He's a sad clown and a gross waste of time, but some people actually feel empowered when their icon fails.
In any event, the press should be ashamed. Bipartisanship is their invention. We have four parties active in Georgia and a bunch of independents, but the press pretends there are only two that count. Because that is what their friends the pollsters pay for.

  4. I think the problem with the site is that Blogger has been acquired by Google, as has Yahoo, Youtube and other competitors with Facebook and the protocols do not mesh. My Google account works fine on the ipad, but not in the chrome browser on Macbook. Google lets new accounts keep old addresses, but it does not like the arrangement. Both Hannah Blog and Cyprespond are on Google, but the system keeps wanting to consolidate Youtube with the new address. I imagine that Google is keen to have Blogger because of the novel content. Ads on Facebook are way exceeded by "created" stuff. Revenue streams seem to be shrinking on the internet. Why we should be paying for aomething developed at taxpayer expense is a question nobody is keen to answer.

    1. So the question becomes, why does Google continue to recognize me while others are having trouble? (I have gmail accounts from events I have been associated with, but never use them.) It's a puzzlement.

    2. And, oddly, my Google account works ONLY on Google Chrome and ONLY on my computer. It does not work on Safari on computer and it does not work AT ALL on my iPhone. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    3. I always use Chrome and have only been using my PC computer. Haven't had occasion to use my windows tablet recently. And I would never try to access the Web on my Android phone.

    1. Needless to say, this aritcle is far more negative than the reports I get from the Rail passengers Association and the High Speed Rail Alliance. And nationally, it is simply incorrect. There is a full-length high-speed rail line in Florida and to my knowledge segments of the Chicago-Detroit and Chicago-St. Louis lines are currently high-speed, with plans on the books to make the entire lines high-speed.

  6. Lost beneath the leaves: Lasers reveal an ancient Amazonian civilisation [Click] This isn’t all news, but a nice update. It has been clear for some years that these people controlled water flow to farm fish and terrestrial crops. Nice to see the LIDAR images.

  7. So to get back to the original question today,
Do we want to move on to a different blog site so that we can all (or mostly all) post?
Or do we want to wait and see if this one improves?

    1. This site is working for _me_. And at my age I'm not anxious to learn something new. But don't let my preferences stand in the way of what others need.

    2. I'm not impatient, but I would be glad to see puddle able to post again.
