Snow on the Last Rose

"That those who claim to love America, which once billed itself as the leader of the world, are taking their lead from minor authoritarian countries—the economy of Russia is comparable to that of Texas, while Hungary’s population is comparable to Michigan’s—shows the extraordinary poverty, or perhaps the extraordinary greed, of their vision. ...
In today’s America, those who call themselves “conservative” are the very opposite of conservative: they are dangerous radicals seeking to bring us to our knees by attacking the grand philosophy that made this nation great—and which, if we could finally make it a reality, could make it greater still—replacing it with the stunted beliefs of petty tyrants."

  2. About the video watching cats. . . . long time ago, was watching an NPR special about Africa, featuring lions and tigers. . . . Became aware of my kitty, watching intently from behind me. And then. . . . she ran along the back of the sofa, and leaped uo onto the top of the tv, where she proceeded to learn over the screen and attempted to reach in and scoop out the lions with her paw. She worked on this project for a good long time before conceding it wasn't going to happen. I was laughing very hard by then.

    1. LOL!

Spinnaker still thinks they are real birds, just behind a window.

Mizzen knows they're not real, because, after all, she has a nose. But she still enjoys watching.

    1. No, he is looking to represent Vermont citizens in the U.S. Senate. If we are committed to government by the people, then the people should always get top billing.

    2. We in Vermont WANT him to campaign. This IS for and by the people. Peter will make a stellar Senator...he has backbone and is able to work with others.

    1. Yes, he accidentally brought his gun to the airport loaded, because he has a felony violation and isn't allowed to have the weapon.

    3. Who was leaving the scene of a "domestic disturbance." Not being pursued but, by my guess, still irrationally angry. The pattern of his previous arrests suggests someone unable to control violent impulses.
