Here is the definition of stanning [Click]
Much of the way through this article it seemed completely foreign to me, but finally I realized that this is just a rediscovery of the power of myth.

Trump is peddling hate in Minnesota. To defeat him, look to Hubert Humphrey [Click] The fallout of the Vietnam War didn’t work to his advantage, but I still like The Happy Warrior.

    Quotes:

1)“Haven’t even had coffee yet and the occupant of the White House, the bigoted man who called for the execution of the exonerated five, is tossing the word ‘lynching’ around. Lord give me the strength to not take the bait but hold this man accountable for every single thing he says and does. Don’t take your eye off the ball family. A major witness is testifying today and he’s using a predictable play to try to distract and divide. We see right through him.”

2)The opening statement from Bill Taylor, the acting US ambassador to Ukraine, to the House impeachment inquiry solicited “sighs and gasps,” Politico reports.

  4. Today I received my copy of The Viking Portable Library Medieval Reader. Flipping through it to find a sample, I decided on "A Picture of a Good Feudal King: Louis VI of France" from the 12th Century. Coming to the section about one Thomas of Marle, I read: ..."Thomas, the devil aiding him because the prosperity of fools is wont to ruin them..." Sounds rather like one or more prominent persons of our time, no?
