DNC will have an “Every ZIP Code Counts” campaign.[Click] Sure. I’ll believe it IF I see it, and I won’t be holding my breath. “‘The DNC has a lot of money coming in from very, very liberal sources, California and New York, who have a hard time understanding Montana, Alaska, Oklahoma,’ Begich said.” Yeah, how about Central California, “The Appalachia of the West,” which the Dems gerrymandered so Dems don’t have a chance, where neither the DNC nor the state party spends two cents to support Democratic candidates, where such luminaries as Devin Nunes and Kevin McCarthy are regularly elected by all those monied liberals? No, California is just two big ATM’s, one in Hollywood and one in “Silicon Valley,” and after swooping in to make a withdrawal, they skedaddle. I will never forget how Mr. Obama stood up local community leaders when he passed through Fresno to get a photo op with a prominent farmer in the next county who had just torn out his vines and planted almonds, because almonds were more profitable.
Hmmmm...so the DNC is willing to pour $10,000 per month into California if the state party does things the way the DNC wants. $10,000/month is $100,000 in the ten months leading up to the 2018 election. Divided to 40 million people, that comes to a quarter cent per person. So if one eighth of the populace votes, that's a whole two cents per voter. Don't strain yourselves, folks.
Not surprised. We all saw what she did and many of us blame her mad ambition for the fact that we have a clown in the Oval Office. And the DNC? When you have a candidate the Republicans have been trying to destroy for the last 25 years you think it's a good idea to gift her with the nomination? Lots of stupidity all around and lots of deflection and no reflection.
I had every intention of retooling today's front page to highlight that the Winter Solstice took place at 11:28amET! But, alas, I was submerged with the combination of impending weather and needing to get enough ready that I could go to the Post Office. But there we are. And suddenly, it's Winter! ❄️
With a head-down, "blackout," six-hour effort, I made it to the post office today with the last of the items that needed mailing. =Whew!= 📦✉️ Mah*Sweetie came home and mentioned in passing our Winter Weather Advisory and I had to remind myself that we're about to hit two days of terrible weather! Guess I'll have to check reports and see what's happening. How far south is this expected to be an issue? Is the storm messing with travel plans? With holiday preparations? Are there enough provisions if we lose power? We went out to the grocery store to stock up a little more, just incase. So now, we're all set. I'll have a few last things to do on Sunday, but that's okay. It's nearly time to wrap the gifts and just enjoy the general splendor. 🎄
I'm having my #1 son and his family, plus myself and #2 son on Christmas Day for a brunch. I've been roaming around online (while I still can, up yours Ajit Pai) and found I can freeze cooked pancakes, unbaked biscuits and bake them on the day we're eating them. I can make mass quantities of toast in the oven at the same time, and I can make the bacon and the sausage in the oven as well. I have lots of equipment to keep things warm.
From the Dean Cookbook I'm making Eggs for the Elite and Breakfast Cake. I'll have that and the afore-mentioned foods and hash brown cakes, grits, ham slices, pumpkin muffins and juices and coffee.
I expect we'll all be several sizes larger by the time we're finished.

ReplyDeleteYes, an outstanding sign; but what kind of business is it, listener? No hint from the sign.

DeleteOh gosh, Susan, I so wish you were in charge!! Then we'd soon see a blessed change!!
DeleteI could never be in charge because I'm an extreme introvert and people often piss me off.
