Listened to some more of Alabama Shakes. The backup is too simple for my tastes, really; but they are definitely worth a listen. Listened to some Dora Previn; somewhat interesting, and I remember some of her songs. Now on to Bessie Smith (digitally remastered CD)...Yes, great. One wonders what she would have sounded like with modern recording equipment, but that isn't necessary. Later some Janis Joplin.
We got about 3" of snow that was more like dense slush, and very heavy. Then it warmed up and most of it melted. We put down some calcium chloride anyway, because of the deep freeze that is imminent. Here come the minus temps! YEAH!!!
I got to spend Sunday afternoon with our three granddaughters! They weren't told we were coming so pandemonium broke out when we arrived. Ha! The youngest, age 5, literally began boinging up and down and chanting, "Grammie! Grammie! Grammie!" That sure made my day!!! :-D
Mercy me, we need Dean!
ReplyDeleteThose two photos were taken in our town as we drove home from our family gathering in December. It may well look like that this morning, too!
ReplyDeleteWell! Blogger ate my post of last night!

According to the URL, we're using blogspot, not blogger. No?
DeleteRight you are.

Except that when I searched the name I discovered that apparently blogspot and blogger are the same thing. I never knew that.
DeleteBlogspot is where you read and post on the blog. Blogger is where you post the front page.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the explanation.
DeleteCoulda fooled me...

So it's 5F outside right now. They've predicted a wind chill of 20 to 30 below. We had some snow last night and this morning, but only an inch or so.
