Our high today was 8º and it's 2º right now with a windchill of -10º--whew!!!
Yes. I am staying warm. And as long as the elecric stays on, I'm good. I do have a gas stove, but I'm not sure how much gas I have. Time to think about that, eh?
I have a krezzy project for the next couple of days: turning cranberries into chocolate chips. Think it'll work?
That sounds like a water to wine kind of thing, puddle. Better patent that! LOL!
Nippy! Down to -8F so far, on the way to possibly -18F. Wind is presently gusting to 15mph, so the windchill right now is -22F, but later it could reach -39F. I'm grateful.
This will be news to anyone not on Facebook, but at the end of the day on Christmas I fell backwards off our back porch right after bringing Perkins in from a potty break. A couple hours in the ER and 10 staples later I was back home and I've recovered pretty well.
Supposed to have the staples removed tomorrow. More specifically, the nurse said they were going to "try". So that makes me a little nervous. Also the fact that there was a little thingy (cyst or lesion) that showed up on the CT scan and I'm supposed to have that looked into.
Glad that it wasn't as bad as I thought after that first sentence. Reassured to hear that the recovery is going well and looking forward to hearing that you're all better soon.
Ohhhh myyyy, Renee! I'm on FB but missed a lot that week, being sick. I'm so glad you are recovering!!! Prayers ensuing for the CT scan follow up. Please keep us posted. ♥
Listed in order are the low temperatures from Jan 8th through Feb 4th in Concord, NH in 1971: -9, -17, -3, 14, 2, -16, 5, -8, -11, -20, -20, -29, -27, -13, 11, 12, -5, 24, 22, -1, -9, -9, -15, -12, -26, -12, -27 and -22.
That's 22 of 28 days below zero with 7 days of -20 or colder
I went to high school in NH that year. And we had to walk uphill both ways. ;-)
On the way to work the other day I noticed it was two degrees (Centigrade--he ducks...). No frost this morning for the first time in several days. Still no rain in the forecast.
Hope people liked the mince pie!
I seem to have made up my mind to get started with T'ai Chi Ch'uan; I have thought about it for maybe fifty years, and the time has come. I have not fully recovered my strength or range of motion since my medical adventures a few years back, and would certainly like to--although I get along OK. With age my balance is beginning to depend on attention and visual feedback. So it's time. I found one version of T'ai Chi that seems particularly well suited to my needs, and safe. Beautiful too. But I will have to study independently.
The holiday rush at work seems to be tapering off. Thank goodness.
Hmmm. That photo makes my mouth water. I'd say mince pies are first...after Howard, of course.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everybody for the birthday wishes and kind understanding on the last thread. Yes, Alan, I hope it is catching.
*wave* Renee♥
I guess the sun is warming things up. 3F now. And not as windy as it was.

After hearing about other people's temperatures our -3F doesn't sound so bad.
ReplyDelete-13.4F now. Light snow off and on. I'm glad someone invented heating.
ReplyDeleteCould be worse!
