ReplyDeleteBeautiful Fall day here, sunny and warm with a cool breeze. But I'm not able to enjoy it fully. For the second day in a row my lower back is bothering me. More importantly, while Vivvie is eating well and seems content, she is very weak. I don't expect her to last many more days. On the other hand, as I said, she seems totally content. That is all that counts at this point.
ReplyDeleteYes, that counts muchly.
DeleteThe night before our Mittens kitty died, she purred on my shoulder. =^. .^=
Awh♥ *blink* *sniff*
DeleteYour lips were like a red and ruby chalice, warmer than the summer night
ReplyDeleteThe clouds were like an alabaster palace, rising to a snowy height
Each star its own Aurora Borealis - suddenly you held me tight
And I saw the midnight sun
Johnny Mercer, of course. He also once used 'gavotte' and 'Herzegovina" in lyrics, but I think 'Aurora Borealis" is the most impressive.
I dunno, Cat. I'm having a hard time shifting between a warm summer night and a snowy height.
DeleteMore often it happens on a cold, clear night. :-)
I'll give him poetic license, but I think he should have used "a" summer night, so I could imagine it wasn't the same night as the "snowy height" clouds. :-)
I don't know why that hit me oddly.
I always took "snowy" as referring to white rather than cold.
DeleteSorry the photo didn't post correctly before. I fixed it! :-)
ReplyDeleteNo aurora visible hear. Clouds all yesterday and today. And chilly -- lower 50s.
ReplyDeleteSummer's almost gone.
Almost...
DeleteI've never heard of the Aurora Borealis being seen this far south, but my mother said they saw it once in the hamlet where we lived when I was small (1946-1952). Hmmmm…..our latitude here is ….36.8 deg. N. Our latitude there was…40 deg. N.
ReplyDeleteBoston is about 42.5 deg. N, and Burlington 44.5 deg. N.

I've seen them (Northern Lights) once when I was about 8. Parents woke us up and carried us out. To remember!
