Just swooping by, no time to get caught up; should be a demanding day at work tomorrow/today (Wednesday), then off to San Diego in the evening, a court case for the Public Defender and maybe a consult with Navy attorneys re a court martial in September.
I lied; quickly scanned recent days' blog posts. Here's hoping things go well with your friend, puddle.
I got off easy--going on five years, and it seems I was cured by the chemo and radiation. I think the radiation treatments took the longest to recover from.... if I had any incipient prostate tumors (to be expected at my age) they were wiped out; and I had (surprisingly) a single skin cancer, which was also whacked by the chemo. So three for the price of one.
Alan, there was a question for a while with Edwin if they could even operate--the cancer was so extensive. Without the radiation, which was massive, they would have refused to do so. The radiation shrunk it enough to make surgery possible. But it also did an amazing amount of damage to non-cancer tissue. His surgeon in Texas thought that that damage was was lead to the bowel perforation. Ah, well. No second guessing the Universe.

Surprising that I only had a single skin cancer--more would have been expected.
