There's lots of Simak on Amazon. Some of it out of print, some not. And several completely free Kindle books by Simak. You probably know that you can download Kindle for PC -- including a special accessible version -- without charge.
The Simak I particularly remember is City. This is a collection set within the frame of a scholar trying to convince his fellow Dogs that these tales of humans are not mere fables but are records of a species that once actually existed in at least one of the cobbly worlds.
Clifford D. Simak works available for free on http://wwwgutenberg.org (that's where Amazon gets them):
Empire (good reviews) The World That Couldn't Be (reviews not very good) Project Mastodon (time travel--mixed reviews) Hellhounds of the Cosmos (good reviews) The Street That Wasn't There (good reviews)
That is a really good tip particularly to those new to the blogosphere. Brief but very accurate info… Appreciate your sharing this one. A must read post!
Howard's first this fine rainy Sunday morning!
ReplyDeleteThe weather couldn't be more beautiful here. But, here too, Howard is first.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying the stories by Simak. Hope I can find more stories or maybe novels.

No, I didn't know you could download an accessible version of Kindle for PC. Thanks, Bill.
DeleteRowan Leo, what a lovely name. Congratulations to all, especially super-heroine Mama!
ReplyDeleteAlan, thanks for the Earth core article link. Fascinating.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is so easy to get distracted, much easier than staying on task.
My task is whatever I'm on, and on schedule is when I get there...
ReplyDeleteSimak for free on Kindle--will have to check it out.
