  1. In the garden of politicians, Howard Dean is highest, healthiest and hardiest!

Our new fence gets installed today!

  3. This is good news. A professed Republican, who owns a pizza place in Florida, got "caught up in the moment" and gave Obama a big "bear hug" (click my link for the picture) when the president visited Big Apple Pizza. In retaliation, Obama-haters across the country mounted an attack on the man by trying to tarnish his business' reputation on Yelp. This attack, thankfully, has "failed miserably".

    1. Those creatures are shameless. I'm glad the smear campaign isn't working.

  4. Boy, talk about negative bounce. . . .

The Republican National Conventional appears to have turned voters off. That’s the result of a CNN/ORC poll that asked, “Does what you saw or read of the Republican National Convention in Tampa make you more likely or less likely to vote for Mitt Romney?” The “less likelies” were ahead of the “more likelies” by ten percentage points.

  6. Susan, this red barn was the focus for some paintings by Warren Kimble. It is at the entrance to the Shelburne (VT) Museum. How fitting that I posted it today, as today my membership renewal arrived in the mail (a birthday gift from Daughter!).

  7. I had an exhausting day! Whoo! Got up early to meet the fence guys, weeded ahead of them under the fence area, which my neighbour had not tended. Met the compost and mulch delivery guy when he came. Got some work done around the house, then went to work at the Library. Came home and shoveled compost, moving 8 wheelbarrows full of it to the garden. Sweetie did the rest. Tonight we went out for supplies, then I came home to a gift from my dearest friend. Though she has been in the throes of starting breast cancer treatments, ahe made time to knit me a gorgeous thin, blue shawl! The gift is all the more amazing as it's the first thing she had knitted in months, having had to stop for awhile (doctor's orders) due to a muscle issue. I am so deeply grateful, I'm in awe!! ♥

    1. Saw the pic on facebook. It *is* awesome. And (my guess) likely earned. Good friends are without price (sorta like pearls). . . .
