Howard's firsiest on this fine, cool, sweet July day.
Just thinkin' -- if we'd made it, Josh and my 30th anniversary would have been tomorrow. Made it twelve years. Do NOT let your mother in law come to live with you. Period. Funny thing, though, after working so hard to destroy my marriage, she *hated* my replacement, and used to call me to complain. I had a hard time working up much sympathy for her. To say the least.
Hanging out at the library while Daughter "reads down her fines". It's nice that kids and teens can do that--too bad it's not an option for adults. Some of my biggest fines came from checking out DVDs for the family to watch and not returning them on time.
Never had a mother-in-law, even potentially. Phil's mother died several years before I met him. She was a high school English teacher. Still, I have a feeling she and I mightn't have gotten along too well, which would have been hard on him, so it's just as well all around.
Have been missing him intensely the past several days. Never mind, it will pass and I won't mention it again.
Mention this all you wish, Catreona. Missing someone isn't a forbidden topic. Not sure we have any of those here anyway.
A cousin was just remarking today that she misses her Mom. Mom died about a week after she was told that same cousin was expecting her first baby. An aneurysm burst, and that was that. It's rough when it's sudden like that. It's rough anyway.
Umm, we're approaching the end of July. Did I manage to miss the Democratic National Convention? I realize I haven't been paying too much attention to the news, but surely, I would have noticed that?

ReplyDeleteRenee, at the Library where I work we don't have fines, so I've never heard of "reading down" one's fines. How does it work?

It took me all day to realize that the fire on the Firefox home page is the Olympic flame. What a blockhead I am!
