The supermarket pharmacy has messed up our prescription refills the last four times they were refilled. So I switched to a *different* supermarket pharmacy. Last night I found out the one I just switched to is closing their stores on Sept. 30. I shouldn't be surprised because the older, smaller chain that I've used for the last twelve years, had a new "Super Walmart" with grocery in it build right next door a few years ago. I guess it was just a matter of time. I absolutely HATE Walmart. I actually get angry when people close to me shop there. My brother and I don't even say "Walmart". We call them "The Evil Empire".
I am right there with you about Malwart, Susan! A friend of mine and her husband worked there and sang their praises, until her husband's promotion did not include benefits and any attempts at negotiation or complaint (about anything) were ignored or derided. Eventually they left.
Somewhere in my 11th year of the Wal-Mart boycott. I'll drop peeps off, and pick 'em up if they must, but I won't go in. Sam's kids are a crime on humanity. I 'spect they're going to be VERY surprised at their life reviews. That's all I've got.
Yes, it always amazes me... the greed of the second (and on) generation of wealthy. Their ancestors were the ones who put in the work, the ingenuity and effort. Yet they, who did nothing but inherit, want more, more, more. And Sam Walton, by every account I've ever seen, lived pretty simply, drove a pickup truck and was a "regular guy".
My computer obviously doesn't want to get fixed. The Microsoft tech called at 6:30 PM Wednesday and started to set up the repair based on the installaation disk that came when I was away. But loading that program, which he had to do several times, went very slowly. (You'll recall that slow program loading is one of the computer's problems.) Finally, at 3 AM, I clicked the button to get the actual repair started. It completed at 5 PM.
The result? Things are as bad as ever if not worse. The tech is now off for the weenend and will call me Monday. He's making noises about a clean re-install, which would be a disaster.
I do not notice Mitt Romney. I ignore him and all ads about him completely. I have decided to vote for Barack Obama again, because he's a good soul who inherited the worst mess in history, has had too much to put up with, and is willing to come back and try again. I have not really forgiven him for dissing Howard Dean and trusting Rahm Emanuel. But I'll give him another chance, because there isn't anyone better coming along yet. I may be voting for him most of all because he was on the first Dean's List.
Howard'd be first. Again. Always. All ways.
