They've upped the prediction for today's temp to 57º without changing the winter storm watch for tomorrow. So, blizzard 'tis.
Cold as heck this morning: flat frigid 20º! But the Goobey liked it fine: had to *lure* him back in with bits of kibble.
New exercise in this house. I fish out the bigger/heavier pieces of kibble from the mix. He eats the tiny red and green balls. I toss the bigger pieces. One to the front door, one to the back. There's twenty feet between -- enough to get some speed. It works, ideally, into near controlled frenzy, and ends wit da boy absolutely panting! I've gotten him up to about a half mile of outright run. At which point *my* arm starts to ache, lol! My vet says a tired dog is a happy dog. . . . Have to agree.
Bright warm and mild. All the better to prepare for tomorrow's blizzard, lol!
Doing odds and ends of cleanups all around. Yesterday the poop finally thawed, so I was able to police the yard, lol! Making it much safer to move around out there. Cats are nice: cleaning up after them is not dependent on the weather.
The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 10 am Sunday to 1 am EST Monday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
* Precipitation type... snow... possibly mixed with rain at times.
* Accumulations... 1 to 2 inches in valleys... with up to 4 inches at higher elevations..
And she's just now getting an e-book reader! Well, better late than never.
I'm getting the impression that Britain must be surprisingly far behind the US in understanding what assistive technology can do. Things that the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation were telling me about more than a decade ago seem to be news to her.
She may not have needed the assistance until now. She has been incredibly employed as an actor, and may not have had as much need of a reader until now. It's not as if you can download a new screenplay's script onto your Nook. ;-)
The screenplay should be available in either PDF or RTF format. I can't guarantee the NOOK specifically, but most e-book readers can handle those formats.
Howard's THE one!!
ReplyDeleteDean is far ahead. :-)
ReplyDeleteOff to the Book Mine.
ReplyDeleteWind is up, but it's a fine day otherwise. Looks like a sunny tomorrow also.
Seasonable, though cooler than we've been having.
I'm okay with that.
Root*Center*Son may come over this evening. Hope so. It's been awhile since we've had him here...New Year's, I think!
Ah, Red-Breasted Nuthatch at the feeder. All's right with the world.
And Alan, laffin at the fond tart, grin.

Bulbs actually coming up here, even though lows are near or below freezing. Prediction says some of Tuesday's showers may come in the form of snow.

=^. .^=
ReplyDeleteBulbs can handle being snowed upon. They will be fine, as long as they haven't blossomed.
ReplyDeleteSo, at least I'm teaching ONE class next quarter. More are still possible, but I don't know how soon I will find out.
ReplyDeleteAh, puddle, great ideas getting Beau to run for his goodies!
ReplyDeleteAlan, puddle's comment made me look. LOL! Mah*Sweetie used to say, "Abcesses make the heart grow fondue," :-)
Modest good news is still good news. Let's hope it gets better.
ReplyDeleteDitto what Bill said. Trending the right direction. . . .
ReplyDeleteBTW, listener, yesterday, I was looking at the buds on the shagbark hickory. They're getting downright *fat* ~~ It's always my first in leaf/bloom.

I third the same! It's good news, Renee. Hoping for more good news for you. Then you'll have more than your foot in the door, too. ♥
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Judi Dench has macular degeneration!
