Any idears on why I can receive e-mail attachments of .wav files but can't send same? That is, when I try to send so much as one .wav file as an attachment, much less several, an error box comes up saying that the message size (of the message I'm trying to send) exceeds the server capacity. Like, huh?
The question is somewhat pressing, as a friend has asked me to send her the songs from a particular album. In theory, it's a snap. In practice, though, no can do. Can anybody help?
I have also had trouble with trying to send files that were too big. The problem is in how much capacity I am paying my Internet Service Provider for. If I were willing to pay more, I could send bigger files.
Cold as a welldigger's watch! 20ยบ! Even Beau consented to come back in after an hour. But pretty: the heavy frost looks about like snow, and it's 'spected to get into the 40's today.
Last night's bedtime was funny, lol! I usually have to get out his leash and lead him up. Last night, I stood up, picked up the medicine syringe, he looked, and ran right up stairs and lay down, waiting for me. (He gets hooked up next to the bed, 'cause I don't need him coming down and looking around in the morning. . . . )
He's sound asleep now, in front of the door. Blessed sabbath.
I suspect that the files are sent to you as a zipped file and your system opens them automagically. To send them you would likewise need to zip (compress) them. The Link Alan offered may be just what you need. Or your computer may already have the capacity to zip files. Mah*Sweetie knows how to do that on a PC, so holler if you need more info and I'll ask him.
Actually, no. It's essentially an ftp service: you upload files to their server and the recipient downloads them. I just got a notice that my SendStuffNow account, which apparently came with Stuffit and works the same way, has expired. But at $75/year, I won't be renewing.
*thoughtful frown* Don't think the incoming files have been zipped. However, Send Space is a reasonable work around. Should have thought of it myself, since another friend has sent me files using it. It's less elegant, more awkward, but a whole lot better than nothing. Thanks, Alan.
As requested by our town clerk, I brought some photos to Town Tea today, of the results of the windstorms and flooding over the past two years. We didn't stay for the event, due to our colds. It was only about half as well attended as last year. Apparently I'm the only one who brought photos...!
Howard is first.
ReplyDeleteThere, I've said it again!

ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it myself, but you might try Sendspace:

I gather it's some sort of compression service or application.

ReplyDeleteLast night's brief snow squall is still evident on most branches and twigs.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to two hours of Downton Abbey tonight!

ReplyDeletePavlov would call this a "conditioned reflex." Otherwise known as "learning."
ReplyDeleteI knows, lol! Just which it'd work when I pick up the leash. . . .
ReplyDeleteAlso need to say the "going up to bed leash" is a different one from the "going for a walk leash."

ReplyDeleteDownton Abbey continues to be award winning in quality and style. Hurrah!
