  1. Thank YOU, Howard Dean!

And a gentle day to all souls.

  2. Very chill this morning: fields all frost and sparkly white. But warming trend starting today for the next five or so.

Been up sincd 6:30, planning the whole time to go back to bed, lol!

Bill, glad to see you on Ally's candle page.

  3. I lighted another Ally candle for you, Bill.

Ally had a somewhat better day today. I'm sure puddle will post about it after her nap. ;-)

  4. Yes, cancer treatment sucks. But I guess it's like getting old -- it's not so bad when you consider the alternaative.

  6. Thanks, listener. Busy today, but maybe tomorrow or next day I'll try another workaround.

  7. Ditto that. I got off kind of easy, but wouldn't have minded not having the experience. Chatting with my oncologist a while back about my memory and other indicia of mental function, he said that it is the usual case that people don't remember the rough stuff very well, and much of it not at all. Here's to Ally having a very good selective forgetter!

  8. Alan...they give her something that helps her forget the event. Her parents don't get that luxury. Today I actually got to read a posting by the mom of Ally's roommate in NYC, and her account of what Ally and her parents went through was very sobering indeed. And that was about merely Ally's second day. I have new appreciation for her parents!

  9. Pretty tired now; long car trips do that to me. Think I will unlax with a cute movie I saw once before: "Rat" (2000), this time with my fancy headphones and with subtitles for backup if I still have difficulty with the Irish accents.

During lunch break from court today I perused the Internet news with my Kindle using mobile web sites and with image download turned off. Not bad at all; the experience doesn't rival my big iMac, but it does the job, given a bit of practice.

  10. We are always on the lookout for cute furry little critters at the highway rest stops; this afternoon we saw a number of apparently well fed ground squirrels.

  11. I ALWAYS appreciate your stories Alan! And road trips exhaustify me too.
Good for you balancing with some fun! :-)

  12. Rat is really a fine film--four paws up! I only needed to check the subtitles three or four times.
