And shaking my head about the editor Cat ran afoul of--I suspect she is a real handful for her boss. Cat--chalk it up to continuing education. We tend to be too trusting over the internet.
Going in to work this morning--there was too much saved for me to finish last night before the witching hour, and I want to leave things in good order for my coworkers while I am (hopefully) on vacation next week. I plan to take a week off every time I turn sixty-five.
Hmm. I turned 65 on August 11, 2001. What was a doing then? Probably working. I took a week off to go to the Worldcon in Philadelphia (The Millenium Philcon), but it was over the traditional Labor Day weekend.
So0metimes Wroldcon is earlier in August. I seem to remember one year I was actually at Wroldcon for my birthday, but can't recall which year it was. As I mentioned here, my birthday was the day after thte 2007 Worldcon (Denvention) and I celebrated the day on top of Pike's Peak. This past year my birthday was the day before Penny and I got on the train for Reno.
Then there was the year I co-hosted a Cegelis for Congress fundraiser on my birthday. Told my friends to donate in lieu of a present.
Last night I finished the draft of the grant application I've been working on. I know there will be revisions, but just having a complete draft this early is a relief.
Sent flowers to Puddle.Surely they'll reach her, since her last name is so unusual. But I did feel kind of stupid not knowing what floor she's on. Should have thought to ask listener. Oh well. All of life is a learning experience, I guess.
It's lonesome around here without Puddle. I hope she gets well and comes back to us soon.
No worries, Cat! They're supposed to double check the room number before they send to a patient anyway, because even when someone is still an inpatient, they are sometimes moved to a different room or even unit.
Kinda tuckered out. But six days off. Good. Bosses saw me at work today. Left things in good order for my coworkers on Monday. And through the week, I hope.
Howard Dean and puddle are First!
ReplyDeleteThinking of puddle too.

ReplyDeleteYesterday the number was 2124.
Does that mean she's on the twenty-first floor? That gives me vertigo just thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteI have no idear! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBut I suspect she's in room 124 on the second floor.
Only if it involves chocolate cake. Or chocolate ice-cream cake.
ReplyDeleteCat--reply above.
