I left some notes on the last thread. Hugs to all.
BTW, I am considering taking on a second job. The Lutheran church ONE MILE from me is in need of an Administrative Assistant. I'm way overqualified and I haven't heard what they're offering, or what the exact responsibilities are, but I've done this work before and that was before I had a lot of training and experience that would be useful in that setting. It's almost hilarious that I'm willing to do this again, except that we need the money, and I really like the people at this relatively healthy congregation. We'll see.
Binky has remained under the bed. She has not eaten. I'm not altogether sure whether she has drunk. She sometimes spits up white foam. I don't know exactly what the stuff is is but it evaporates almost immediately. She responds, but flags quickly. Maybe "lethargic" isn't the right term but rather "very tired." Her fur doesn't feel nice, but then she has been sick and unable to groom properly. I wouldn't say greasy exactly. Still haven't been able to get my hands around her for a good feel over, so don't know about swelling or weight loss. Two of her kitty friends are in different parts of the room, napping, so she isn't by herself.
Dad says Binky is showing all the signs and symptoms of kidney failure, from which she suffered several months ago and from which she miraculously recovered. But there is no cure and I suppose this time we really can't expect another miracle. Guess I've been in denial.
You'll be fine, Renee. You always are. Don't worry so much. You're too hard on yourself. Mind you, I understand but for the sake of your blood pressure and your sanity, try to relax a bit.
Got another 45 today, all the way from Australia, and cataloged it on RYM. Have I told you guys about RYM? Rate Your Music is a music cataloging and social networking site. Haven't gotten into the social networking side; haven't figured out how it works. Library Thing is much easier to use. But RYM is great for cataloging.
Please remind me: How old is Bianca? What does Dad recommend be done to ease her suffering if he doesn't believe she'll pull through this time?
I do not want to alarm you, but is Dad absolutely sure it isn't rabies? (Are her shots up to date?) I ask because renal insufficiency is one of the things that rabies can lead to. Drooling is also related, and lack of appetite. Watch for any redness in her eyes or heavy breathing.
Vets can help with ailments in their early to mid stages, but not so much the advanced stages. Here's hoping she can be made comfortable.
Catreona, I don't know what you are feeling with regard to Binky's situation. Are you wanting more information or do you feel like you have to let go because you don't get to make the decisions? I want to respect your wishes, while I am also feeling great concern for your kitty. (Especially having seen some of ours suffer toward the end.) According to this website http://www.felinecrf.org/symptoms.htm#miscellaneous It sounds like your cat is "crashing." I can explain more, if you want, or not if that's better for you. Either way, I send my sincere hopes for gentlenesses for you both.
Don't rightly know how old Binky is. She was about six months when we got her, but how many years ago that was I couldn't say. Eight? Ten? Something like that.
Howard Dean and pinkish-peachy mums are First!

ReplyDeleteWho needs to read the article? The headline tells you everything you need to know.

ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, she was actually diagnosed that other time, so Dad knows what he's seeing.

ReplyDeleteJust got an update from Dad. He says Binky just lies there, not eating or drinking.
ReplyDeletePoor Binky. My wishes for whatever is best for her.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill♥

listener, it's not in my hands. That being so, I appreciate the love and concern, but less is more with regard to the info.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I do understand. Will do (that is, won't do). ♡
