  1. Is there a doctor in the house? Yep, and he's first!

  2. Very still and quiet and green and cool this morning. Got some wash in, and soaking. Moved the car back into its slot. Fed da babies. Got the 'puter set up and moving. Played a bit on the forums at PoF. Beau and Stevie out in the quiet. For a while he was under the house; now on the porch just outside the door. It's about 70ยบ. And as soon as I said that, grin, everything changed. Puppy got the playfuls, started wanting Stevie to play, and began "romping" -- teach *me* to keep my mouth shut.

  3. Yeah, puddle. I bet Stevie won't shine on Beau's romping!

I'm taking a lunch break. Don't know what the family's schedule is for today. I got a quilt for my friend's grandson pin-basted. Made a gallon of tea for Son #2. Washed the dishes I neglected yesterday. I'm missing a pattern for a boys' sleeveless shirt that I want to make, so I guess I'll continue with the shorts and stuff.

Have no idea in this universe of what to make for dinner.

  4. Nice thing for Stevie is that *he's* in control, lol! Beau pays him THE utmost respect when he demands it. Puppy romped by himself. . . .

  5. OUR Stevie cat and our golden mix used to "romp" together when Stevie was a kitten. Was surprised to see them doing it again recently.

  6. Did I tell you guys about Patty's puppy, Jake? Seems he was outside recently, "helping" her in the garden when a chipmunk happened along. Patty thought, "Uhoh! That's the end of Mr. Chipmunk." But,nothing doing. In a moment, there were Jake and Mr. Chipmunk nose to nose, checking each other out. Eventually Mr. Chipmunk got wise and skedaddled. But, Patty said it was the funniest, cutest thing she'd ever seen.

  7. Nice stories, both! Stevie cotched a mouse and brought it up to bed last night. I scooted him back down. Found half eaten mouse in front of the computer this morning. Animals are so FUN!!

It will ask you for a login. Just type whatever name you use. And there should be a chat window in the lower right hand corner.

Quite some years ago one of our cats -- now passed -- brought a live mouse to our bed. I was not pleased, and ended up crushing the mouse. Since he did not get the praised he obviously expected, Bonzo never caught another mouse.

  10. Sorry I missed you on the chat page, Bill. I was off looking for a picture and you disconnected before I got back.

  11. Cat the multitasker. Chatting with Renee, keeping an eye on the inbox and, earlier, answering a comment at RYM. One of these days, I may actually get the hang of this wild whirl.

  12. For some reason all my emails from DFA appear in my mailbox 4 to 5 days after they're actually sent.

Yes, I didn't quite understand what was going on and had no idea whether I should try to stick around. Lots of e-mail activity today in connection with both this year's Worldcon and the bid for the 2015 Worldcon has kept me fairly busy. Multitasking in the sense of juggling several balls at once, although no single ball has huge urgency.

Wierd but not unprecedented. For several months earlier in the year a lot of people on the medical writers' e-mail list would get messages from a half-day to a day late. Somehow the problem got solved without anyone every understanding it. Probably had something to do with the internet relay servers in the vicinity of AMWA headquarters, but who knows?
